Get to know us

A good way to get acquainted with Koumbit is to read the contents of this Web site, as well as some of our Wiki pages that haven't been migrated to it yet, such as the Réglements généraux page (General Statutes, in French) and the Règlements internes page (Internal Regulations, in French).

Become a member

Koumbit is a membership-based organisation, with a collective-oriented internal culture. Becoming a member is thus an excellent way to get started.

Meet us

If you want to meet us in person and become part of the group dynamics, it would be a good idea to start attending our public meetings.

Internships and benevolent work

Koumbit is in a constant self-development process. Whether you have high technical skills or not, you can help the organisation better manage its internal and external communications. Your participation can thus be extremely beneficial.

We have a rather expansive ToDo list, of which most tasks don't require any formal approval. We also need translators (towards English) and research assistants. Our technical documentation is pretty complete but we need to puslish more user-friendly, non-geeky howtos and manuals.

How to get paid by Koumbit

If you want to work either as a freelancer (contract worker) or permanent salaried employee, you must first become a member of the organisation. Being a member gives you access to the minutes of our weekly and monthly meetings, as well as the right to use some of our productivity tools.

However, some of these tools are reserved to members of the Comité de travail (CT or Work Committee). In order to become a member of the CT, you must meet the eligibility criteria listed here. Being a member of the CT gives you the right to vote in the weekly Coordination Meetings and the monthly Strategic Meetings (which are the equivalent of the Board of Directors in hierarchical, for-profit organisations).
